EAGLE SOARING

We didn't see it coming

We couldn't have known

That for a few hours our worlds would stop

That we would put our lives on hold

We sat glued to our television sets

We saw the horrible scene

As we sat in school or at home

We saw icons collapse into nothingness

We still cannot comprehend

We are still grieving our tragic loss

We will always remember

What we saw that one fateful day

Our country will prevail

That is what we are told

We must be strong

So we can begin to heal our tragic wounds

Flags fly at half mast

Countries all over pray for us

We must be strong

For our country - and world - will prevail

In remembrance of all the men, women, and children who perished in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. And to all of those who survive knowing that the United States and the world would never be the same again. My thoughts and prayers go out to you!
