Dreams and ShadowsA dream is more precious than silver or gold. It speaks without words to those select few which can understand its language. It blinds the dreamer to all but its pursuit: begging the dreamer to come within a fingertip's reach only to vanish into the distance. It tempts the mind and boggles the imagination to the point of insanity. It fills the dreamer with hope, only to let them fall into the first chasm of despair and failure it stumbles upon. It takes the dreamer to places unseen only to let them wake up screaming. My question is simple. If this is true then why dream at all? A dream is like a true friend, it never really leaves. It just fades into the back of your mind until a spark of inspiration is needed. A dream is like a true love, it's always there with open arms to comfort you when the world becomes unbearable. A dream never asks you to explain your actions. It just accepts you for who you are and loves you just the same. A dream warms your soul on cold winter nights. It wraps around your heart and mind until you lost in its security. A dream never truly dies. It reincarnates in a new form with a familiar face. My advice is this: To all the dreamers in this world, take hold of your dream and never let it go. Never lose sight of it and someday it will be carried on a howl back to you. Dreams never truly fade. They blend into the Shadows and emerge when you least expect it; but when you most need them. They appear as visions or illusions of fantasy. They draw the dreamer ever closer to their achievement only to vanish into oblivion at the first sign of success. Given time and struggle, the dreamer can reach that point of bliss where they believe they are about to accomplish their goal. Only when the suspense reaches a fever pitch can the dreamer actually see that they have accomplished the goal without realizing. Dreams are a dime a dozen, but only the few that cling to your heart and remain ever truly get accomplished. They keep you on their trail by tugging at your heart-strings when you most need reassurance. In some cases, an outside influence is needed to guide you back to the path which leads to your goal. In thise instances, Fate sends that guide when the dreamer is at their lowest point. They seem to be mere coincidences, but everything is said to happen for a reason. To my guides on this journey, I want to say thank you for leading to the path to my life dream. Wherever the road leads, I wish you to be beside me always. Return to the writings menu. |
